Rules & Regulations
Welcome to the International Scratch Olympiad 2025 hosted by GEMA! Below are the rules and regulations for the competition:
1. Eligibility
- Participants must be between the ages of 5 and 18 years old.
- Each participant must have a valid Scratch account.
- Only individual entries are accepted.
2. Themes
- The competition will have specific themes or categories announced before the event. Participants must create Scratch projects based on these themes. Read more about the themes here.
3. Project Guidelines
- All projects must be created using Scratch programming language available on the Scratch platform.
- Projects should be original, created specifically for the competition. Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.
- Projects must align with the announced theme or category.
- Participants are encouraged to use creativity, innovation, and interactive elements in their projects.
- Projects can encompass games, stories, animations, simulations, or educational tools.
4. Project Submission
- All projects must be submitted by the specified deadline.
- Participants must provide a link to their Scratch project in the submission form provided by the organizers.
- Late submissions will not be considered.
5. Judging Criteria
- Projects will be evaluated based on creativity, functionality, originality, technical complexity, and adherence to the theme.
- Judges’ decisions will be final and not open to dispute.
6. Code of Conduct
- Participants must maintain respectful behavior towards other competitors, organizers, and judges.
- Any form of cheating, including but not limited to, using unauthorized code, sharing solutions, or collaborating beyond allowed team limits, will result in disqualification.
7. Intellectual Property
- Participants retain full rights to their projects; however, by submitting, they grant GEMA the right to showcase their projects for promotional purposes related to the competition.
8. Technical Requirements
- Projects should run smoothly on the Scratch platform without errors or technical issues.
