“I won the international coding competition and I am very happy…”- Suuraj Tejvi, our upcoming rockstar and the national winner of Scratch Competition at GEMA’25 expressed his zeal and efforts during another episode of our campus highlights.
We recently had the chance to interview our champion participant in the Scratch Contest- Suraj Tejvi, who surpassed our expectations by building a game based on his favorite game- football. He designed it in a way that when two people aim for a goal, the one with the maximum number is declared the winner. So, of course the inspiration for his project came from his love for football. He also told us that it took him four days to complete the project. He also expressed that it gives him contentment to see the balls landing perfectly in the goal. To achieve this he dedicated an entire day to this miscalculation, it clearly shows his persistence and reluctance to give up.
He also mentioned that his favourite feature in Scratch is that you can make your own block and then use it accordingly for your project. He told us that he loves working in a team as it harbors even more quantitative and qualitative ideas. It makes the working more paced, smooth and efficient. He mentioned his parent’s constant support and motivation and helped him thrive through the competition.
He recalled the flood of emotions which ran through him when he saw his name in the winners list. He also recalled his lesson this event gave him that if he works hard enough for something he can surely win and it is thus proved! He also left a message for the future participants that they should participate in such events with full courage and zeal as it will improve and enable them to learn new coding experiences.
Talking to his mother , she told us that now he is even more confident and looks forward to participating and winning such competitions.Indeed winning is not what matters but participation that makes the big difference. Suraj aspires to become a coder in near future and thus, we wish him luck for all his future endeavors.
