Zuhyar, a very young and a passionate coder, was interviewed by the GEMA team and he opened up about his unexpected victory in the GEMA Scratch Competition. He mentioned that while preparing for this competition he was also preparing for his final exams, so Zuhyar was genuinely surprised when he heard that he had won the competition because he had very limited time. With limited time on his hands, he still managed to create something truly impactful giving a very strong message that, “Hard work speaks.”
The main idea behind Zuhyar’s Scratch Competition was to inspire his age group people to pursue their dreams through consistent effort. He shared that while preparing for exams, he managed to stay committed to the competition. Sharing that for him, the most fun part was animating the characters in his project, which added a unique and personal touch to his storytelling.
This young mind stood strong even after facing a number of challenges. He even mentioned that he prefers working alone, as he finds group work pretty distracting and he admitted that he ends up talking too much! With continuous focus and discipline, he brought his idea to life with little help from his mother and his coding teacher for their immense support.
With a hint of bravery he said that he wants to become a game designer and wants to do beyond coding only. He even shared tips and tricks for other kids of his age group to get started with coding early, which proves that he is not only a creator but also a motivator for his generation.
His mother expressed how proud and emotional she felt. Also she mentioned that Zuhyar has been coding since a very young age, that is, Grade 1. She now finds coding so interesting and would love to learn it herself.
His teacher, who has seen his progress, enthusiasm and growth from the beginning, felt deeply moved by his dedication and creativity. She especially praised how Zuhyar independently handled the from animating characters to background music, and overall execution of his project.
This competition gave Zuhyar a platform to showcase his talent, and he’s ready to keep going. With such passion and skill, the future looks bright for this young innovator.
